Trek Red Truck Presented by Mosaic Homes Announces Roster for 2010 Season
The Trek Red Truck Racing team presented by Mosaic Homes has announced
its team lineup for the upcoming cycling season. The team will focus on a
busy race schedule primarily in the Pacific Northwest and targeting BC
Super Week, the National Championships, and selected NRC races in the
US. The team will showcase its sponsors and riders by once again hosting
the popular and 7th annual Yaletown Grand Prix to be held on July 1st.
The elite men's team will be comprised of a mixture of proven,
experienced returning riders joined by 3 young, talented prospects, who
will be looking for a break out year after posting some encouraging
results last season. After a year hiatus, seasoned ex Symmetrics pro
rider Marsh Cooper is back along with sprinting ace Tyler Trace, 2009
Yaletown Grand Prix silver medalist and super talented Nic Hamilton, and
all around strong man Adam Thuss. Talented newcomers such as 2x U23
Ontario Provincial TT champion Matt Bell, Victoria native Dan Skinner,
and Bryson Bowers will round out the squad of 7 riders.
As part of the teams mandate for continually developing younger riders
starting at the U17 junior ranks, Cycling BC's U17 male of the Year,
Craig Logan and talented Devon McClelland have been selected to
represent the team and continue to develop their cycling skills. Boris
Martin moves from Junior to U23 this season accompanied by returning
rider and climbing specialist Nathan MacDonald who had an impressive 2nd
place at the Mt. Baker hill climb last September despite mechanical
problems.
On the women's side, a total of 6 riders will represent the team and
its sponsors for the upcoming season including 2006 U17 National
Mountain Bike champion and 2008 Junior Road National bronze medalist,
Leah Kirchmann.
Elite Men's Team Manager Matt Barth returns for his 2nd season of
overseeing the riders in their preparations and at the races. The team
has finalized its list of partners and sponsors along with a few new
additions for the upcoming season and will be fitted in newly designed
clothing provided by Vancouver based Sugoi. The team's first training
camp will be held in early Spring in the warm weather of Southern
California at a location to be announced.
