My last junior worlds was another amazing learning experience! It started off racing the Team Pursuit qualification round. We had a solid ride up 3km and then in the last kilometre the team began to fall apart. We went out faster then planned and we payed for it in the end but we ended up qualifying in 5th place with a time of 4:37 which put us in a good place for our first round ride which was the following day.

It is always nice to be able to race locally so I was happy to race this year's edition of the Provincial Track Championships at my home velodrome, with the event being hosted by the Greater Victoria Velodrome Association.
This past weekend was three days of racing for me, with two days of track racing and then I finished it off with the spring series on Sunday. It was a hard and fun weekend of racing that definitely finished off my prep for busy road season ahead!
The men's Team pursuit, including our Jay Lamoureux, set a new personal best placing at the World Championships on day one of the event. The men's TP made their way into the first round after a ride of 4:00.584 and took on the Kiwis in the second round.
Sometimes I feel dizzy with all the riding in circles I do. Like everything's a blur. The sport of track cycling is an intense, past paced, wild ride that keeps me always searching for more.
When I started racing bikes, I started racing on the track. I was still a bike messenger, most days working on a fixed-gear track bicycle out in the streets, and a few friends and I made the jump to do our Learn to Ride program together at the Burnaby Velodrome. I started racing track on Friday nights, and I wouldn't start racing on the road until the following summer.
The 2015 Pan American Games were my first ever international games. They wrapped up this past Sunday in Toronto and I managed to come away with a gold and bronze. My main focus for the games and why I was selected to the Pan Am team was the team pursuit on the track. We knew going into the event that the Americans, with a revamped team, would probably be our biggest threat and come out with a good ride to put pressure on us.
